This is an important reason why we challenge the use of non-sustainable packaging materials.

Our Eco-Friendly Packaging Material
Unfortunately, the versatility of plastic makes it one of the most popular materials for mass production. Some of the most common places we find plastic is wrapped around the things we buy every day. After all, it’s recognized as an effective way to keep food and cosmetics clean and fresh. However, plastic waste around the world is a disturbing reality many people do not always observe. According to Oceana, only about 9% of the plastic waste in Canada is recycled, while 86% ends up in landfill. The remainder is burned and used as a fuel source or littered, causing even greater environmental damage.

Due to this, Buck Naked uses glass over plastic when feasible and continue to actively sources new more sustainable packaging options. Both our Coconut Wax Candles and Sugar Scrub containers are made of 100% recyclable glass material, while our Mani-Pedi boxes are biodegradable, compostable, and carbon neutral. In addition, all the box packaging we use is FSC® certified - sourced from well-managed forests – while our tissue paper is also FSC® certified, acid free and printed with plant-based inks, so they are eco-friendly and sustainable. We source all of our sustainable raw materials from communities governed to protect the environment. Buck Naked also uses limited packaging standards, which means no exterior boxes, or unnecessary extras are included – truly, Buck Naked! We take pride in our use of biodegradable, raw materials. Our Sustainable Certifications
Sustainability standards and certifications are voluntary guidelines used by manufacturers, retailers, and service providers to demonstrate their commitment to good environmental, social, ethical, and safety practices. There are over 400 such standards across the world. Buck Naked is “PETA-Approved Vegan” and “PETA Cruelty-Free” Certified. We earned both of these certifications because our company not only bans testing on animals, but also refuses to use animal-derived ingredients. We are a part of the Leaping Bunny Program, operated by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics in the US and Canada. Companies must pledge to end animal testing at all stages of product development in addition to recommitting to the program annually and be open to third party audits to remain certified.
